YENG Guiao flashed a big smile on his face when asked about TNT counterpart Chot Reyes earning a one-game suspension ahead of him for accumulating a surplus of technical fouls in the PBA Philippine Cup.
“Parang gusto akong i-dislodge dun sa title ko e. Naunahan pa ako ni coach Chot,” said the Rain or Shine coach following the Elasto Painters’ 113-97 win over the Tropang 5G Friday night at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Game 5 win was fashioned out at the expense of a TNT side that was without the 61-year-old Reyes, who served out his suspension for having totaled five technical fouls in the course of the entire season-ending meet.
As per the PBA rule book, players or coaches who have amassed five technicals in a conference will be suspended for at least a game.
Of course, the ever-temperamental Guiao has been the barometer of T’s in the 50-year-old league as far as coaches are concerned.
And so, it came as a surprise to many that Reyes had beaten him out in the number of technical fouls piled up in the all-Filipino conference.
Despite making a joke out of his situation, Guiao actually acknowledged he's also close to earning the maximum technical fouls allowed.
“Pero malapit-lapit na rin ako e,” stated the veteran coach. “Pero tingnan natin. Sana makaiwas ako.”
As per the unofficial count by PBA resident statistician Fidel Mangonon III, Guiao has a total of two technical fouls committed this conference.
The incident came during the series opener of RoS' semis duel with TNT where he was ejected in the waning minutes for committing back-to-back T’s in a 98-91 loss.
