BLACKWATER faces Meralco, and TNT takes on Rain or Shine in the opener of the PBA 48th Season Philippine Cup on Feb. 28 at the Ynares Center in Antipolo City following a revision to the schedule.
The opening games of the revised schedule will now feature the debut of James Yap and Rey Nambatac with their new team as the Bossing take on the Bolts.
The 42-year-old Yap was signed by the Blackwater after being released by Rain or Shine during the offseason.
Nambatac, meanwhile, was also obtained by Blackwater from Rain or Shine but in a trade with the Bossing giving up a 49th Season first round draft pick and 50th Season second round pick originally received from TNT in a past trade.
The second game of the playdate will also see the return of Chot Reyes as TNT coach after taking a leave to focus on his role as Gilas Pilipinas head coach during the Fiba Basketball World Cup.
The PBA also changed the other playdates with the original opening doubleheader of Terrafirma against Converge, and NorthPort versus NLEX now to be played on Mar. 1 at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
Blackwater faces TNT, and Rain or Shine takes on Meralco on Mar. 2, and NLEX goes up against Terrafirma, and Converge faces NorthPort on Mar. 3, both at the Big Dome.
Batangas City has also been added to the out-of-town PBA schedule with San Miguel facing Meralco on May 4.
