JUNE Mar Fajardo hit his first three-pointer of the PBA Governors’ Cup during Wednesday night’s match against Blackwater.
Fajardo drained his fifth three of the season during the third quarter of San Miguel’s 105-86 win over Blackwater on Wednesday, highlighting a double-double of 17 points and 16 rebounds.
Incidentally, his previous three for the season also came in a game against the Bossing last October 5. It was also his first three under new head coach Jorge Gallent.

Will Gallent allow Fajardo to take more threes under his stewardship as San Miguel coach?
“As long as he is one out of one, he is fine,” said Gallent with a smile. “It stays there.”
Fajardo has been showing a longer range based on the number of threes he has made this season, and teammate Jericho Cruz is no longer surprised with his stroke.
“Para sa akin, si June Mar, may shooting talaga. Talagang may shooting din siya. Pero mas effective siya sa loob dahil malaki. Sabi nga ni coach Jorge, it is okay for him to shoot basta 1 out of 1.”
Personally, Cruz said he also wants Fajardo to take more outside shots, being also used to playing under Yeng Guiao, his former coach at NLEX.
“Na-ano din ako kay coach Yeng na lahat ng big man, tumitira sa labas. Si June Mar, may shooting talaga. Hindi lang niya ginagawa talaga,” said Cruz.
