A Fil-Am from California, Barefield changed PBA agents last December and gave his néw represention the marching orders to find him a new home.
But prying him from the Bossing, who holds his rights for at least 16 more conferences, will require significant cash consideration plus another player asset because Sedrick is four years younger and has far less mileage than Pogoy.
While the idea of Pogoy leaving the Tropang 5G after 10 years of service stuns the imagination, the league is still a business where the young talents devour the old.
Pogoy’s contract expires this August and from what I’m told, there are no ongoing contract extension talks between his camp and TNT.

Several attempts to reach his agent, Edgar Mangahas, were unsuccessful.
If Barefield can’t be acquired, TNT could pivot toward acquiring Blackwater forward Christian David in a swap that may involve Poy Erram and Simon Enciso, league sources bared.
Maybe it’s not a coincidence that Almond Vosotros and Brian Heruela were recently released by TNT.
And if you think no one is untouchable at the telecommunications giant, just look at where Mikey Williams is playing now.
Blackwater and TNT have a long history of swapping players.
