A TIGHT back kept rookie Stephen Holt out of Terrafirma’s PBA Philippine Cup game against Phoenix Wednesday night at the Philsports Arena.
Marvin Espiritu, who represents the Fil-Am guard through the Espiritu Manotoc Basketball Management (EMBM), said Holt suffered the injury during the Dyip’s Saturday outing against TNT Tropang Giga.

“Nag tighten 'yung back niya nung last game nila sa TNT. Kaya hindi muna siya nakapag-practice,” said Espiritu.
The Dyip obviously missed the presence of the season’s No. 1 overall pick in the game against the Fuel Masters as they lost their second straight game, 94-78.
WATCH:
Holt, 32, was not in uniform and watched the rest of the game from the sidelines.
In Terrafirma’s first two games, Holt averaged a second-team best 22.7 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while averaging 38 minutes of play.
The Dyip obviously missed those numbers as they fell to an even 2-2 card.
“Subukan niya raw makabalik sa next game nila,” said Espiritu of Holt, the top contender for the Rookie of the Year plum.
That would be three days from now when Terrafirma faces Blackwater in the first PBA doubleheader at the Rizal Memorial Sports Coliseum in a decades.
