ALREADY adamant that there’s just too many players who are more focused on taking threes, it follows that Robert Horry is not a fan of the PBA’s latest move to implement a four-point shot.
“I don’t think so just for the fact that they shoot too many damn threes now,” answered Horry, when asked about his thoughts about the four-pointer that drew many reactions all over the world.
One of Horry’s skills is the ability to hit triples, especially during the crucial moments of the game. He once held the record for most career threes in the finals with 52 until it was surpassed by the likes of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, LeBron James, Danny Green, and JR Smith.
Big Shot Bob reminds about aspects outside the arc
Horry, a seven-time NBA champion with the Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Lakers, and San Antonio Spurs, said players nowadays no longer work on the other aspects of the game because of the current trend of opting to take the outside shot.
And due to the number of three-pointers that have been taken in different levels of basketball, Horry said many young talents are getting used to taking bad shots.
“It goes back to my saying that you’ve got to play the game. So many guys, they just want to shoot threes. They figure out if I can get 10 threes and I make three, that’s nine points. That sucks. That’s 30 percent. And you don’t want that. And I think, a lot of times, there’s so many people who look at it as ‘Okay, three is more than two.’ Now, four is more than three," he said.
“It’s like we all learn that when we were three, four, five years old, I’ve got two apples, and you’ve got one, I’ve got more apples than you. We all know that. I just think that we get to a point where we want to shoot the long ball so much that it gets lost at the game is played.”

Horry reiterated that instead, there are many other aspects of the game that should be worked on like defense.
“The game is a beautiful game, a majestic game, and it’s not just coming down and launching threes because there is more to it than just that,” said Horry.
