ANTIPOLO – Meralco and Rain or Shine were left to play with all-Filipino lineups on Sunday after Bolts import Akil Mitchell sustained an injury very early in their PBA Commissioner’s Cup game at the Ynares Center.
Mitchell was taken to the hospital after suffering a bloodied nose just 11 seconds into the game after he was inadvertently hit in the face by a Keith Datu elbow while going for a drive.

The Meralco import was immediately brought the Cardinal Santos Medical Hospital for treatment.
Mitchell's early exit evened things out for the two sides as the Elasto Painters were already left without an import as Deon Thompson has "yet to secure his special work permit," according to the ballclub.
WATCH:
Thompson recently replaced Kenneth Kadji just in time for their opening match of the conference.
Mitchell was coming off a heroic performance in their previous match against Phoenix where he had 27 points and 13 rebounds including a running shot with one second left to lift the Bolts to a 111-109 win.
