SYDNEY - As the PBA board converge in this charming Australia city for its annual preseason planning, expect a slew of trades to be consummated on the side.
Some governors, in fact, admit this is one perfect opportunity to complete trades which they plan to take advantage of.
Asked if he has already opened trade negotiations with fellow governors, Alvarez laughed.
Yun ang main purpose ng board meeting, di ba?” said the soft-spoken former PBA chairman of the board.
Globaport Batang Pier head of basketball operations Erick Arejola admitted several offers have been laid down to him even before the group flew to Sydney.
Syempre, kailangan din ng approval yun sa itaas,” said Arejola, the most trusted lieutenant of franchise owner Mikee Romero.
One PBA governor, who requested anonymity, told Spin.ph that he is certain trade transactions will be sealed before the planning session is over.
“Sure yan. 'Yan ang side event namin pag may lull sa meeting at planning sessions,” said the board representative.
