GUESS who is on top of the Best Import race of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup?
It’s Mike Watkins of NLEX.
The import out of Penn State leads the likes of Barangay Ginebra’s Justine Brownlee, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson of TNT, and the high-scoring George King of Blackwater in the race for the top honor among imports.
The do-it-all Watkins compiled a league-best 54.9sps prior to the resumption of the mid-season conference this week, built behind numbers of 25.4 points, 1.9 assists and a league-leading 24.1 rebounds per game.

Running second to Watkins is Kadeem Jack of unlikely league-leader Northport. Jack has accumulated 50.7sps while delivering numbers of 30.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game.
And Brownlee, the beloved Ginebra reinforcement and three-time winner of the award?
The Gilas Pilipinas naturalized player is at third spot with 50.2sps as he averaged 28.0 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.2 steals, and 1.2 block.

Comprising the Top 5 are Donovan Smith of Phoenix (49.5sps) and Rain or Shine’s Dean Thompson (48.3sps).
King leads all imports in scoring with 37.2 points, but could only land at sixth spot as Blackwater had a slow start to the conference with his 47.8sps, while two notches behind is Hollis Jefferson, a two-time Best Import winner, with 47.3sps.
In between them, is former NBA player Cheick Diallo of Converge, also with 47.3sps.
The rest of the list has Magnolia’s Ricardo Ratliffe (45.1sps), Brandon Edwards of Terrafirma (37.0sps), San Miguel’s Jabari Narcis (36.0sps), and Akil Mitchell (32.3sps).
