Marcelo didn’t play in Game Five of the Philippine Cup finals and wasn’t even at the Don Honorio Ventura State University gym to celebrate the championship on the court.
Dave Marcelo played a crucial role along with Brian Heruela, Ping Exciminiano, Gryann Mendoza and Glenn Khobuntin in the TNT run to the title.
Although there is no official statement yet about him missing the game, it might have something to do with a fight that reportedly occurred prior to Friday’s game.
The hotel fight was just one of a few controversies that occurred in the series that ended on Friday with the Tropang GIGA capturing the title with a 94-79 win over the Hotshots.
It was Marcelo’s second title, his first was with with Barangay Ginebra in the in 2016 Governors’ Cup.
