NEWLY crowned Bb. Pilipinas Supranational Jehza Huelar remained a picture of grace as she turned into an animated cheerleader on the sidelines of the PBA Philippine Cup finals for her fiance Magnolia veteran PJ Simon.
Huelar is now busy preparing for the Miss Supranational pageant, but she finds time to be a supportive partner to her beau who managed to support her as well on coronation night straight off a semifinal game Magnolia won over NLEX.
Simon, whose team hopes to end a four-year championship drought, is currently in his own quest for a title against San Miguel in the PBA All-Filipino Conference, with the best-of-seven finals series tied at a game apiece.
“The [Miss Supranational pageant] is on December 1 pa naman but the preparations is ongoing but for now support muna natin si PJ,” Huelar told SPIN.ph after Game 2 last Sunday.
Coming straight from her commitments, Huelar headed immediately to the game to join other Magnolia WAGS as she wanted to inspire her partner the same way she inspires the Hotshots vet, who turns 38 in June, to stay in game shape.
“It’s also a good thing that our main office is here in Araneta, so papasok muna ako (sa work) and then I can be here sa game right away,” she said.
“More than the crown, gusto ko ipasa ‘yung energy ko that’s why sinasabayan ko siya sa work out and pag sinasabayan ko siya namo-motivate siya na mas mag-work out,” she added.
Although beauty pageants are totally different from basketball games, Huelar and Simon are the same in their competitive fire. And she knows that each competitor can use any kind of motivation, especially the presence of loved ones, in whatever contest they enter.
"I try my best to always be there for him, presence ko pa lang nagmo-motivate na sa kanya," she said.
