AFTER capping its dream run in the PBA Commissioner's Cup with a sweep of Barangay Ginebra in the Finals, the Alaska Aces are headed for the land of fairy tales.

Team owner Wilfred Uytengsu told Spin.ph on Sunday that he is treating the whole team to a trip to Disneyland in Los Angeles as a bonus after the franchise's 14th league championship - and first in three years.

Uytengsu said a trip to the 'Happiest place on earth' is the perfect treat for his players, most of whom celebrated on court moments after the title-clinching Game Three victory with their kids in their arms.

“Majority of them have kids, as you can see. So this is for their children,” said Uytengsu while casting an admiring glance at his players and their children in the middle of the championship celebration.

Here's a video of the Aces and their kids:

“I asked them … And they liked the Disneyland trip,” added Uytengsu, who also threw the same treat to his players the last time the organizatrion won a championship in the 2010 Fiesta Cup.

The flamboyant team owner is planning to have the trip at the end of the month.

Alaska star rookie Calvin Abueva was happy to hear the news about the championship bonus, saying a trip to Disneyland in California had been his childhood dream.

“(Hanggang) Sa Disneyland Hong Kong lang ako eh, kaya siyempre iba yung dun sa US ang mapapasyalan ko,” said Abueva. “Atleast, hindi ko man narating yun nung bata ako, maipaparamdam ko sa anak at asawa ko.”

The only Aces players still without children, so far, are JV Casio, Raphi Reyes, Nino Gelig, Benedict Fenrnadez, Paolo Bugia and Aldrech Ramos.

As for Finals MVP Sonny Thoss, coming back to Disneyland will bring so much memories, considering that he will be making the trip with an almost totally different team now.

“It’s amazing. Last time we were with coach Tim (Cone). Hopefully, we won’t have to wait for another three years for our next championship,” said Thoss.
