ALASKA suffered a major blow when Vic Manuel was ruled out with a calf injury in their quarterfinal sudden death against Tropang on Friday night in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
Manuel missed the game due to a right calf strain, an injury that could sideline him for the rest of the Aces’ postseason run.
Aces coach Alex Compton earlier hinted that Manuel, whose play has been noticeably a far cry from his outstanding performance in the Philippine Cup, was nursing an injury, but declined to go into detail.
He later told scribes Manuel will be out a minimum two weeks owing to injury.
Tony dela Cruz, Eric Menk, and Noy Baclao filled the void left by the 'Muscleman' in the do-or-die match against the Tropang Texters which the Aces won, 99-81.
