KAYE Pingol was relegated to the backseat as Shanda Anies and Eunique Chan took care of business, helping Uratex rule the Women’s PBA Invitational on Monday.
Anies and Chan combined for all but three of the Dream’s total output in a 22-15 win over Gilas B in their finals duel at the close of the three-a-side tournament at the Ayala Malls Glorietta.
Hot-shooting Uratex side
A former University of Santo Tomas standout, Anies finished with 10 points and scored the title-clinching deuce in a game the Dream dominated right from the get-go. Chan added eight as the two more than made up for the scoring drought of Pingol.
The 25-year-old player out of National University was held to just a single point.
Samantha Harada had three to round out the scoring for the Dream of coach Katrina Quimpo.
Earlier, Uratex survived a gritty showing by former national team player Allana Lim and Angelis Resort in a close semifinal, 21-20.
Pingol scored on a free throw to end the bid of the Lady Splashers, who were led by the 12 points of Lim.
Meanwhile, Gilas B stunned top seed Philippine Navy-Go For Gold, 19-15, in the other semis pairing to arrange the title showdown with Uratex.
Mary Snow Penaranda finished with eight points in the runner-up finish by Gilas B, which is handled by Mark Solano.

Gilas B (15) – Penaranda 8, San Juan 3, Joson 2, Domingo 2.
