THE suspense is over.
After days of searching, Barangay Ginebra coach Tim Cone confirmed the team is bringing in Riley Grigsby as a fill-in import for the PBA 50th Season Governors' Cup while Justin Brownlee recovers from an assortment of injuries.

Little is known of the 26-year old Grigsby, who had a solid college career at Seattle University until 2023 and has had stints in Europe and the NBA G League, most recently with the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
However, Cone said the 6-6 swingman came in highly recommended by his former coaches and will be given the chance to prove his worth when the Gin Kings begin their Governors' Cup campaign against Phoenix on July 19.
"He has come with some strong recommendations from his coaches there," said Cone is a text message to SPIN.ph. "We're excited about working with him."

As it is, Grigsby is one of the few imports not named Brownlee to play for Ginebra in the Governors' Cup over the past decade. In the 2023-24 season, Tony Bishop filled in for Ginebra in the Commissioner's Cup while Brownlee served out a drug suspension from FIBA.
However, Cone made it clear that Grigsby is coming in as a temporary import and will step aside once Brownlee is ready.
"I'm guessing four weeks," Cone said.
But what if he proves to be a keeper?
That's thinking too far ahead, but Grigsby has more or less four weeks to put that thought in Cone's mind.
