MJ GARCIA has signed a deal with Converge, more than a year after he was drafted in the eighth round of the PBA Draft last season.
Garcia is set to join the FiberXers, the team that drafted him at No. 72 overall in the draft in September 2023.
He signed his PBA contract with Converge alternate governor CK Kanapi-Daniolco and Justine Baltazar, who will once again be his teammate after playing together with the Pampanga Giant Lanterns.
Garcia makes it to the PBA after rising from the ranks when he was discovered out of Systems Plus College Foundation in Pampanga, before playing for the Pampanga Delta in the National Basketball League-Pilipinas where he won three championships, and in the Pampanga G Lanterns in the Pilipinas Super League where he won one title.
He then played for the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the MPBL where he was one of the supporting cast of Baltazar in their run at two straight championships in the regional league.

In the recently-concluded MPBL season, Garcia averaged 7.7 points, fourth-best behind Baltazar, Archie Concepcion, and Encho Serrano, while also posting 4.2 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.1 steals.
The Angeles City native is also known for his athleticism and his high-flying moves that made him one of the more entertaining players in the Giant Lanterns squad.
Garcia was already spotted at the Converge bench during their most recent game against Rain or Shine last Tuesday.
