THIS season's PBA Governors Cup will bring back the same group format it had the last time around when it officially kicks off on July 10.

The 13 teams, including guest ball club Macau Black Knights, are going to be divided into two groups, led by newly-crowned Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup champion Barangay Ginebra in Group A and runner-up TNT in Group B.

With the Gin Kings in their bracket are Phoenix, Blackwater, Magnolia, Meralco, and Rain or Shine.

Comprising the Tropang 5G’s group are Terrafirma, Titan Ultra, NLEX, Converge, San Miguel, and Macau.

The grouping was made based on the drafting order in Season 50.

Teams in each group will play each other twice, with the top four advancing to the best-of-three quarterfinals, as the conference itself is expected to finish by December.

TNT was champion and Ginebra was runner-up in last season's Govs' Cup.
