IF you're a diehard PBA fan, you better have access to AksyonTV channel or be prepared to stay up late on Thursday.
Sports5 has announced that Thursday's doubleheader will be carried live by AksyonTV beginning at 5:30 p.m. but will be aired on a delayed basis over TV5 beginning at - hold your breath - 11 p.m.
That means the game pitting unbeaten Barangay Ginebra against a much-improved GlobalPort side will begin airing on TV5 at 11 p.m. after the Kapatid network's late-evening newscast.
Worse, Thursday's opening game between Alaska and Talk 'N Text will be broadcast at the ungodly hour of 1 a.m. over the same station.
If it is any consolation, TV5 will air replays of both games on Friday beginning with the 8 p.m. telecast of the Alaska-Talk 'N Text game to be followed by the GlobalPort-Ginebra tussle at 11 p.m. after the newscast.
However, the PBA has explained that it understood that it was not easy for TV5 to make adjustments on its airing schedule following the shift to a Thursday playdate.
The league, officials said, was forced to move the playdate to a Thursday since there are no available venues for the regular Friday schedule.
The Ginebra-GlobalPort game is one of the most awaited this season since it would mark the first meeting between former MVP Mark Caguioa and flashy rookie Terrence Romeo.
