IF you can't beat them, join them in the case of Don Trollano.
The 32-year-old guard gets another chance at winning a PBA championship as San Miguel faces Magnolia in the Commissioner's Cup finals.
Trollano disclosed the last time he played in a title series came during the 2019 Commissioner's Cup when he was still with TNT.
Trollano recalls losing to the Beermen
And who would beat him and the Tropang Giga for the title? It's the Beermen.
"The last time I played in the finals it was against San Miguel. And nanalo sila sa series na yun," he recalled on the eve of Game 1 of the title series against the Hotshots.
The Beermen defeated the highly-favored Tropang Giga featuring Best Import Terrence Jones, 4-2, during the best-of-seven series.
Ironically after the stint, Trollano was traded by TNT to Blackwater along with Anthony Semerad for Bobby Ray Parks.
Two years later, he was moved again to NLEX together with Maurice Shaw, Roi Sumang, and a 2022 second-round pick for the no. 4 overall pick in the 2021 draft.
For the next two years, he would be one of the major players for the Road Warriors and proved to be the perfect piece as a trade bait to San Miguel, which acquired him in a three-team trade involving the returning Robert Bolick.
Trollano reunites with Adamson pals
He found his place right away at San Miguel where he's reunited with Adamson teammates Jericho Cruz, Rodney Brondial, and college coach Leo Austria.
Now, he hopes to win a second championship as a pro with the Beermen after bagging his first with Rain or Shine in 2016.
"Hopefully, I'm with them now, Sana makuha namin yung championship," said Trollano.
