TREVIS Jackson had a solid outing for Meralco in Friday’s match against Columbian in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.

The rookie had 17 points and converted four of his six triples as the Bolts defeated the Dyip, 101-92, to pick up their first win in the conference.

Jackson said he was determined to bounce back after he missed a potential game-winner in regulation in their first match against Blackwater, which eventually won in overtime, 94-91.

“It’s a great bounce back win,” said Jackson. “Like I said before, I felt I let the team down the last game. I felt like we all bounced back not just myself. We culminated a great practice leading up to this. Obviously, it showed tonight.”

Jackson is off to a good start in the Commissioner’s Cup after once again becoming part of the Meralco rotation. The rookie said he has now adjusted to the PBA style of play.

“The game is slowing down for me. I’m able to make my reads better and I’m getting used to the physicality and overall, being a professional. That’s allow me to transfer my game to the next level. Now, I play with more confidence,” said Jackson.

The Sacramento State product said he wants to repay the trust given by Bolts coach Norman Black.

“Just staying diligent, coming to work everyday with a good mindset. No one can control how hard you work. Just keeping that in mind. Every day, I come to practice and work hard every day.

“Clearly, coach has given me faith in me and I’ll take it and run with it,” said Jackson.
