FORMER national coach Rajko Toroman is deep in talks for the Barako Bull coaching job as he is being eyed to take over the task of reviving a PBA franchise that has wallowed at the bottom end of the pro league hierarchy the past few seasons.
Toroman is set to take over from interim coach Bong Ramos as he and Energy Cola owner George Chua work to strike a deal in a meeting currently ongoing at the Shangri-la.
Wearing his patented loose white polo striped shirt and looking stress-free, Toroman was in good spirit as he joined the amiable Barako Bull owner in the meeting.
The two sides are still in the heat of negotiations as of this writing.
“Please standby.” was Barako Bull team manager Raffy Casyao’s short reply when asked about the negotiations with the prominent coach.
Before that, the former Gilas coach was granted his release papers by the San Miguel organization, where his last official post was consultant to rookie coach Olsen Racela at Petron.
That partnership, however, did not go well, with the Serb ordered to stop joining Racela on the Petron bench after the Boosters' struggling start to their Philippine Cup campaign.
