TONY Mitchell is set to return to the Philippines, this time suiting up for NLEX in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup.

No less than coach Yeng Guiao bared the development in Tuesday's PSA Forum at Amelie Hotel as the Road Warriors begin their buildup for the second conference.

"We watched videos of him playing at na-impress naman kami. We thought it was worth bringing him back," he said.

Mitchell, 27, played for the Star Hotshots (now Magnolia) in the 2017 Commissioner's Cup.

He averaged 21.25 points, 14.38 rebounds, 2.88 blocks, 1.75 assists, and 1.0 steal in his eight games for the Hotshots before being replaced by Ricardo Ratliffe.

The 6-foot-8 Mitchell, who was a second round pick of the Detroit Pistons in the 2013 NBA Draft, is currently suiting up for the Fubon Braves in the Taiwanese Super Basketball League, where he is averaging 17.4 points on a 37-percent shooting from threes, on top of 10.6 rebounds, 2.8 blocks and 2.3 assists

He is expected to arrive in the Philippines as early as Saturday, depending on Fubon's progress in the semifinals of the Taiwanese SBL.
