CHAMPIONSHIP experience was the difference maker in Game Six of the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup as TNT fell short to San Miguel.
That according to Jayson Castro after the KaTropa bowed to the Beermen, 102-90, on Friday.
"Yung experience nila sa pag-close out ng series, nandoon talaga. So yun nga, sabi ng coaching staff na kailangan namin yung mga pagkatalo na ito para ma-experience namin and madala sa mga susunod na conference," he said.
"Maganda talaga ang nilaro ng San Miguel and maganda yung adjustments nila."
TNT fell behind by 10 by halftime and even stared at a 63-44 deficit, yet failed to make a dent to the lead that ultimately led to its downfall.
Castro had 16 points, six rebounds, six assists and one steal for TNT, not enough to help the KaTropa force the decider.
And that only adds to Castro's frustration as TNT now looks at San Miguel as the hump it needs to hurdle to get back to its championship-winning ways.
"We fell short na naman. Di ko nga maaalala kung ilang beses na kami tinalo sa series ng San Miguel. Nandoon na kami eh, pero yun nga, medyo inexperienced pa kami," he said.
Despite the defeat, Castro would like to stay positive and look at these experiences as a building block, with the KaTropa still in the hunt of ending their four-year title drought.
"Kailangan namin yung mga pagkatalo na ito para sa next conference, yung confidence namin during Finals, solid talaga. Kailangan naming matuto sa pagkatalo," he said.
"It's a good conference pa rin sa amin, yun nga lang nag-short. Hopefully next conference or sa mga darating pang conference, makapasok kami ulit and dadalhin namin ang experience namin dito."
