THE hurting toe plus a calf injury finally caught up with Calvin Oftana.
The TNT forward sat out the crucial Game 6 of the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals against Barangay Ginebra Sunday as the infection on his right foot coupled with a hurting calf proved too much to bear.
Oftana was in a TNT uniform but wasn’t fielded in by coach Chot Reyes.

The former NCAA MVP out of San Beda already endured the pain in Game 5 as he had to sit out the overtime period which Ginebra eventually won, 100-95.
Oftana averaged 13.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists through the first five games of the best-of-seven series .
Also badly missed out by the Tropang 5G was big man Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser, who hurt his ankle in the Game 5 loss.

Ganuelas is contributing 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game in the title series and was likewise in a playing jersey at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
But even without the two, the defending champions survived Barangay Ginebra, 98-90, to send the best-of-seven series into a deciding game on Wednesday.
Coach Chot Reyes said both are game-time decision in the winner-take-all match.
