TNT goes for the equalizer as it faces Barangay Ginebra in Game Four of the PBA Philippine Cup finals on Sunday night at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena and Cultural Center.
The match is set at 6 p.m., with the Tropang Giga eyeing their second consecutive win in the best-of-seven finals series at the Smart Clark Giga City bubble.
TNT avoided slipping into a 0-3 hole by scoring a 88-67 win without Ray Parks on Friday.
The explosive guard remains sidelined with a calf injury, and the Tropang Giga again lean on RR Pogoy, Jayson Castro and Troy Rosario as coach Bong Ravena urged the team to stay focused.
“Wala namang nangyari. We just won a game. Sila dalawa pa rin. Nothing to celebrate,” said Ravena.
Ginebra coach Tim Cone was quick to move on from its loss in Game Three as the Gin Kings still hold a 2-1 lead in the championship. Ginebra is eyeing its first championship in the Philippine Cup since 2007.
“We’re not here to win a game. I tell that to the players all the time. We’re not here to win a game, we’re here to win a series. A 21-point loss is the same thing as a one-point loss in a series. Maybe not in an eliminations or whatever, but in a series, there’s no pogi points for blowing a team out,” Cone said.
Ginebra hopes for a more balanced offense this time, after LA Tenorio scored 19 and Japeth Aguilar had 15 points but Stanley Pringle had a relatively quiet outing of 11 points on 4 of 14 shooting in Game Three.
