A CT scan revealed no serious injury to Talk ’N Text guard Jayson Castro but the cat-quick gunner remains doubtful for the Tropang Texters in Game Four on Friday when they shoot for a commanding 3-1 semifinals lead against Alaska.
“All the results on Jayson, CT scan and other tests were negative. Maga lang ng konti yung ilang parte niya saka medyo nahihilo pa siya,” Talk ’N Text media officer Virgil Villavicencio told Spin.ph
The heady playmaker is set to show up for the team’s Thursday afternoon practice at the Moro Lorenzo gym but will not participate.
Castro was pulled out of the game midway in the fourth period of Talk ’N Text’s 93-79 Game Three victory after being hit hard on the face with a forearm by Alaska guard Cyrus Baguio during a fastbreak.
The former PCU Blue Dolphin star stayed down for several minutes as he held on to his face. He managed to get up later and split his free throws before being brought to the team’s dugout to be evaluated by Talk ’N Text medical staff.
Baguio, on the other hand, was assessed with a flagrant foul penalty 2, which could easily merit suspension.
Game Three was marred by wayward elbows and rough plays on both camps, resulting in the ejection of Alaska rookie Calvin Abueva and Baguio.
Alaska's Sonny Thoss and Jared Dillinger were also assessed double technical fouls for engaging in a brief skirmish in the third period while Gabby Espinas was also slapped a flagrant foul penalty one.
