TWO serviceable guards who served as major backups in TNT’s foiled Grand Slam bid last season has been let go by the franchise.
Veterans Almond Vosotros and Brian Heruela are no longer with the Tropang 5G heading to their PBA Season 50 Commissioner’s Cup debut game against Rain or Shine this week.
“Brian and Almond are out,” team manager Jojo Lastimosa confirmed.

The two guards were still in TNT’s reserve list during the Philippine Cup where they again reached the finals, but fell to San Miguel.
They were no longer renewed after the conference.
TNT's other roster moves
Meanwhile, Lastimosa said wingman Paul Varilla has been relegated to the reserve list, while big man Poy Erram is currently on the injured/reserved list.
Sophomore Avan Nava remains as practice player, added the Tropang 5G team manager.
Vosotros, 36, has been a loyal soldier for the franchise since the 2019 season, and had been a star player of its 3x3 team before being activated back for TNT’s 5-on-5 roster in 2024.
Last season, he was recalled when longtime stalwart Jayson Castro went down with an ACL injury in the semifinals of the Comm’s Cup.
Vosotros and Heruela, later on, played crucial roles as backcourt backups when the Tropang 5G went for another shot at the Grand Slam minus the injured Castro and Rey Nambatac, only to be foiled by June Mar Fajardo and the Beermen during the season-ending All-Filipino Cup.
