TNT is hoping that third time will be the charm as it is set to field its third import in the 2018 PBA Governors' Cup.
Interim coach Eric Gonzales, who's filling in for "on leave" head coach Nash Racela, bared that the KaTropa have decided to part ways with Pepperdine standout Stacy Davis after just four games.
"We're gonna change him. Ang tagal niyang maka-adapt. Yun ang order sa amin," he said on Sunday after TNT's thrilling 118-114 victory over Columbian.
Davis was a non-factor for the KaTropa in their recent win, racking up only 11 points, four rebounds, and three assists in 22 minutes of play, but was benched during the crucial stages of the game.
Through four games, he averaged 18.25 points, 10.75 rebounds, and 2.75 assists.
Gonzales and team manager Virgil Villavicencio refused to name the replacement, though fortunately for TNT, it will have ample of time to acclimitize the reinforcement with its next game still set on September 22 in Passi City in Iloilo against Rain or Shine.
"Hopefully by the end of the week. Tatlo na ang naka-pila, pero ayaw ko ma-ano baka ma-preempt," said Villavicencio.
The KaTropa currently sit with a 2-4 card, with the victory over the Dyip snapping their three-game losing skid.
The import will be TNT's third for the season-ending conference after earlier parting ways with Mike Glover after just one game.
