TNT Katropa has netted another Falcon from Rain or Shine after acquiring Don Trollano in a trade for Norbert Torres, SPIN.ph learned from multiple sources.
The trade, which sources said went through at least five revisions before the two teams reached an agreement, was approved by the PBA Commissioner's Office on Monday.
It was the second straight transaction set to be completed by the two ballclubs this season after TNT acquired another former Adamson Falcon standout, Jericho Cruz, in a trade earlier in the year.
Cruz, ironically, was a former Adamson teammate of Trollano and Alex Nuyles, who was earlier rumored to be part of the one-on-one trade until Torres entered the picture.
Cruz was acquired by the Katropa from the Elasto Painters in exchange for Kris Rosales, rookie Sydney Onwubere, and a 2018 first round pick.
Together with Trollano, the two won a championship with Rain or Shine during the 2016 Commissioner’s Cup.
The 26-year-old Trollano, a native of Gigmoto, Catanduanes, was a second-round pick of the Elasto Painters (15th overall) during the 2015 draft who has blossomed the past two seasons.
On the other hand, Torres was a first-round pick of Star (now Magnolia) in 2015 who spent two largely uneventful seasons with Phoenix before finding his way to TNT through the three-team deal that sent Ranidel De Ocampo to Meralco last season.
