TNT Katropa faces possible fines after only two representatives showed up during the first-ever PBA Media Day at the Tent Solaire Resort.
Only coach Bong Ravena and Tony Semerad showed up for the media event, making the MVP flagship franchise the least represented among the league's 12 teams.
The league requested the presence of Jayson Castro, Roger Pogoy, Kelly Williams, Troy Rosario, and Semerad. But TNT consultant Mark Dickel made a sudden decision to conduct one-on-one training with Castro and Co. even though the Katropa were supposed to get Thursday off.
New team manager Gabby Cui already apologized to the Office of the Commissioner, although that doesn't mean the team will be spared from a penalty.
The event marked the first time the league held a Media Day to extend the PBA's gratitude to members of the press - both print and online - for their unending support to the teams and players in particular and the league in general.
It was held three days before the league opens its 44th season at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan.
