TNT may have lost its first tune-up game in its build-up for the PBA 50th Season Commissioner’s Cup, but the squad is nonetheless impressed with how their import Bol Bol played on Wednesday morning.
Team manager Jojo Lastimosa said the Tropang 5G were defeated by Meralco in the tune-up game, but was glad with how the 7-foot-3 former NBA player performed.

Lastimosa said Bol is starting to learn about becoming one of the main guys in the team in the PBA, different from his time in the NBA where he was mostly a role player.
“Bol showed exactly what he’s been showing in practice and what we saw in the NBA,” said Lastimosa to SPIN.ph when asked about the former NBA player who had stints with the Orlando Magic, Denver Nuggets, and the Phoenix Suns.
“The difference now is getting the green light and will get the attention of the defense,” he added.

Lastimosa admitted the son of former NBA player Manute Bol still showed signs of rust as he hasn’t played since his latest stint in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns during the 2024-25 season, but expects their import to improve as the opening game approaches.
“He’s rusty but he will improve,” said Lastimosa. “It’s his first competitive game in six or seven months.”
Bol will make his PBA debut on March 20 when the Tropang 5G face Rain or Shine at the Smart-Araneta Coliseum.
