Don’t look now, but even before the PBA 50th Season Commissioner’s Cup could end, it looks like the TNT Tropang 5G are already looking for ways to improve.

Sources told SPIN.ph the flagship team of the MVP group is looking at acquiring athletic wingman Joshua Munzon in a trade with the Titan Ultra Giant Risers.

The pursuit of Munzon, sources said, is aimed at adding depth and versatility to the TNT offense and more size to their backcourt and wings.

“Yun ang target ng TNT, to get taller and have more scoring options outside,” said the source.

And who are the players TNT is willing to give up?

Rey Nambatac and Simon Enciso, the sources bared.

Unfortunately for the Chot Reyes-mentored squad, Titan Ultra management turned the offer down, although it is willing to explore options in another round of negotiations.

Sources close to the Giant Risers camp bared the pro league's newest team may be willing to let go of Munzon if it can get Jordan Heading.

“Ayaw ng Titan Ultra yung Nambatac at Enciso, matigas sila sa Heading. So, nasa second stage na negotiations, we will see how this will pan out,” said the source.

The Tropang 5G will barred from making trades soon, as do all the teams which make the playoffs. The Giant Risers, however, can explore other trade options after their final game against Rain or Shine as they are already eliminated.

It will be recalled that Munzon was once reported to be bound for Converge in botched negotiations for Alec Stockton, which the FiberXers nixed.

    Nambatac's numbers dip

Titan Ultra sources meanwhile are not answering calls, especially amid unconfirmed reports that the Blackwater Bossing are also pursuing Munzon, who is averaging 19.55 points, 4 rebounds and 4.27 assists per game in the conference.

On the other hand, Nambatac has slowly faded from TNT's main rotation this conference, where his scoring averaged dipped to 5.7 points at 18 minutes a game.

Heading isn't doing much better, averaging 8.56 points through nine games.
