TITAN was quick to offer its 102-98 win over Blackwater in Tuesday’s PBA Commissioner’s Cup to ailing big man Cade Flores.
The third-year power forward missed out the game at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium apparently due to food poisoning, according to coach Rensy Bajar.
“Cade had a good practice (Tuesday), but eventually during dinner time, nagkaroon siya ng food poisoning,” related Bajar
"So sayang we missed him, but we offer this game to him.”
The Giant Risers notched their second win in five outings after Joshua Munzon buried a clutch four-pointer in the final 1:29 to finally put away a hard-fighting Blackwater side.
Munoz finished with a game-high 25 points, import Earl Gilmore with 21 and 15 rebounds, and Aris Dionisio with 11 on 3-of-5 shooting from three-point range.
But the Giant Risers did miss Flores’ averages of 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists as part of the team’s starting unit.
“Nasa first group namin siya, e,” said Bajar of the 6-foot-5 Flores. “And he texted me before the game. So sabi ko lang pahinga ka. And we offer this game to him.”
