GARY David is expected to finally return to action for Globalport Friday opposite Barangay Ginebra albeit in a gradual manner.
Coming off a knee injury, the hotshot guard known as `El Granada’ will not be starting right away for the Batang Pier, and instead, is going to come off the bench until he fully gets back in tip-top condition, according to coach Glen Capacio.
“Medyo nangangapa pa si Gary since galing nga sa injury, pero he’ll be coming off the bench,” he said.
Also reactivated from the injury list is banger Jondan Salvador, whose return, like David's, can help perk up Globalport’s lethargic inaugural campaign in the PBA Philippine Cup.
Going to their match-up with an equally struggling Kings, the Batang Pier can only show a single win in eight matches so far.
David actually played on two of those games before coming down with a knee injury that sidelined him for almost a month.
Ironically, David, last season’s scoring champion, wasn’t around when Globalport notched its inaugural franchise victory by edging out Meralco, 105-104, three weeks ago.
