TIM Cone didn’t have much to say after seeing Barangay Ginebra falter in the end game, resulting in a 115-111 loss to Rain or Shine in Game 1 of their PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinal series on Wednesday at the Ynares Center in Antipolo.
Ginebra looked on its way to winning the opener of the best-of-seven semifinal after taking a 107-102 lead following a stretch that saw RJ Abarrientos hit one tough three pointer after another with 2:23 left in the game.

But the Elasto Painters responded with an 11-0 run in a dizzying one minute and 45 second stretch behind Jaylen Johnson and Gian Mamuyac to steal the game from the crowd darlings.
“They hit the bigger shots. They hit the bigger shots,” Cone told reporters in a brief interview after the game.
The 25-time champion coach pointed out Ginebra’s lack of discipline as it played right into Rain or Shine’s hand in the high-scoring affair. In the 12-game elimination round, Ginebra only allowed 98 points per game.

If this trend continues, then Ginebra can forget about making the finals, according to Cone.
“We played their game tonight and we didn’t have much discipline. If we’re going to be like that we’re not gonna win many games in this series,” Cone said.
“We have to be tougher, we got to be better, we got to have more disciplined. They hit the bigger shots and made the bigger plays down the stretch."
