The Barangay Ginebra coach lamented his players are not getting the proper acknowledgement with every victory by the team in the ongoing PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals against reigning champion TNT.
Cone said he’s already ‘tired about the idea’ especially after his side lost Game 6 on Sunday night, 98-90, before a crowd of 22,731 fans at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

“When we win it’s all because we got favored by the referees and when they (Tropang 5G) win, it’s always about great coaching and great plays,” he said in a post-game interview.
“It’s a narrative that’s getting really old and I’m really… and it’s starting to bother me a little bit.”
TNT coach Chot Reyes had been critical about game officials the entire course of the best-of-seven championship series, sarcastically describing officiating as ‘excellent’ especially with every Tropang 5G loss.

Cone believes though, the Kings are not getting their fair shake.
“I think it’s unfair. I’ve coached against Ginebra for 27 years and this got to a point where this is crazy,” he said. “It’s referees for us, coaching and great plays for them.”
