    Tim Cone still nervous, but won't lose sleep ahead of 11th Game Seven of his career

    TIM Cone admits even a coach as seasoned and accomplished as him still gets nervous before a Game Seven.

    And nothing will change for the two-time grand slam winner when Barangay Ginebra and Meralco go at it one final time on Friday for the PBA Governors Cup championship.

    Cone said there will always be pressure in a winner-take-all match, especially a game as enormous as this one when a record crowd is expected to be at hand at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan.

    "Sure I get nervous," Cone disclosed shortly after presiding over the Kings' closed-door practice at The Upper Deck Lifestyle Center on the eve of the season finale.

    "I was nervous for Game 6 because I knew they would come hard and we have a tendency to be soft," he said of the Kings' 98-91 loss in Game Six on Wednesday night.


      But unlike others, the 59-year-old mentor is not about to lose sleep over it.

      "I'm a pretty good sleeper. I have to admit it. I'm a good sleeper," said Cone, who is bound for the 11th Game Seven of his career.

      "One thing I've impressed upon our team is to keep our sleep. It's easy to get irritable when you're not asleep," he stressed.

      "I can't afford not to get my sleep. To get the best from your guys, you need to be at your best."
