BEST Import candidate Robert Dozier is happy Calvin 'The Beast' Abueva is on his side.
“Abueva? Man, he’s an absolute animal!" the Alaska import gushed after seeing 'The Beast' score 24 points and grab eight rebounds in an 89-82 Game Three win over defending Commissioner's Cup champion San Mig Coffee on Wednesday night.
"He plays with relentlessness. I’m so happy he’s on my team and I don’t have to play against him,” added Dozier.
The 6-9 Dozier said Abueva’s competitive spirit never ceases to amaze him, admitting he is no longer surprised to be beaten for the rebounds by the 6-1 1/2 bundle of raw energy.
“Even in the game, he beats me for the rebounds. I missed three rebounds because he was jumping over my back. But he said, ‘I’m sorry man, I was just trying to go for the ball’,” said Dozier laughing.
Aside from his energy, Abueva has become a fan favorite because of the hustle and emotions he brings to every game, as can be seen from these photos from Game Three snapped by Spin.ph's own Jerome Ascano.
