    Jun 16, 2012

Talk N Text withstood Jason Forte’s one-man Alaska rally to outlast the Aces, 80-72, Saturday night in a PBA Governors’ Cup out-of-town game at the Mindanao Civic Center in Tubod, Lanao del Norte.

The Alaska import scored 10 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter to almost singlehandedly cut a 21-point deficit to just three points, 75-72, with one minute and 15 seconds remaining in the game.

The Texters held on after two consecutive baskets from Ranidel de Ocampo and Jason Castro.

De Ocampo finished with nine points, all from beyond the arc, while Castro added four markers. Import Paul Harris led TNT with 25 points.

The Texters, who improved to 2-3, showed no signs of rust after coming off an almost two-week layoff.

They gained their first lead of the game after a De Ocampo triple broke a 26-all tie with 8:19 in the second quarter.

Larry Fonacier, who had 16 points, gave the Texters their biggest lead at 71-50 early in the fourth quarter, before the Aces embarked on that 22-4 run to make it a game.

Mac Baracael tallied 20 points to emerge as top-scoring local for the Aces.

LA Tenorio failed to score a single point after coming up with 17 in his last game for the Aces, who dropped to 1-6 and were eliminated from playoff contention.
