TERRENCE Romeo is still in disbelief that his first Finals appearance went to a cardiac Game Seven, set on Wednesday.
"Excited na nga akong maglaro sa Game Seven. Isipin mo, first Finals ko then umabot pa ng Game Seven," he said after San Miguel's 98-86 victory over Magnolia to send the 2019 PBA Philippine Cup to a decider.
But the gravity of the situation isn't lost on Romeo, with the Beermen shooting for immortality with a potential fifth straight all-Filipino title if they do come away with the victory.
"Grabe," he sighed. "Nararamadaman namin yung (historical implications)."
For the flamboyant guard, though, all he wants is to be prepared as hard as he could as he gets a chance to finally win a championship, the only feat that has eluded him throughout his decorated career.
"Actually hindi ko alam kung paano namin napaghahandaan yung laro, pero pag nandoon na kami sa point na kailangan ng wake-up call, talagang lahat kami nagigising eh," said the three-time Scoring Champion as he plays in the biggest stage of his professional career.
"Napakagandang challenge nito para sa amin."
