TERRENCE Romeo was quick to move on his controversial meltdown in Game Two last Friday, stressing that his focus remains on helping San Miguel win a fifth straight PBA Philippine Cup championship.

While the intensity was there in Sunday night’s Game 3, Romeo was a picture of composure in the 86-82 San Miguel loss to Magnolia, not unlike the last time when he lost the plot after being called for two technical fouls.

On Sunday, he sounded like someone who has moved on.

“Part naman ng basketball na minsan hindi mo ma-control yung emotion mo,” said Romeo, wearing an all-black outfit topped by a black baseball cap after the game. “Pero siyempre marami pa rin akong natutunan sa mga nangyari na yun.”

His outburst late in Game 2 angered Robert Non, the mild-mannered San Miguel Beer board of governor. But Romeo said he and Non are fine, describing the incident as normal for two individuals who both wanted to win.

“Okay naman kami ni Boss Robert. Para lang kaming mag-tatay or mag-kuya sa mga ganung pagkakataon. Siyempre parehas namin gustong manalo,” said Romeo.

Two days after the controversy, Romeo was all business again, firing 15 points on 3-of-7 shooting from three-point range as one of the few bright spots for the Beermen in the Game Three loss.

“Kaya nga sinasabi ko hindi ako naapektuhan ng mga ganung bagay. Mas gusto kong makatulong sa team kaysa isipin 'yung mga ganung bagay,” said the 27-year-old Romeo.
