BLACKWATER rookie Mac Belo has long known GlobalPort star Terrence Romeo, but he was still left in awe by his former college teammate in their first PBA face-off on Wednesday night.
Belo and Romeo were together at Far Eastern University for two seasons, but the soft-spoken forward from Midsayap, North Cotabato said the GlobalPort star never ceases to amaze him.
“Ayun, na-excite nga ako kanina na makatapat siya then patuloy pa rin akong namamangha sa talent niya kasi kitang-kita naman natin (ang husay niya),” the Gilas cadet said.
So ayun, napapa-wow din ako,” Belo added.
Belo scored 20 points for Blackwater in the 99-91 win over GlobalPort, which got 22 points from Romeo on a spotty 6-of-21 shooting.
The 23-year old said he is no longer surprised with how Romeo's game has evolved in the PBA, given the blue-collar work ethic he has seen from his former teammate since their FEU days.
Nag-eextra pa talaga siya,” he recalled.
