TERRENCE Romeo vowed to be a good soldier to Nash Racela as player and coach reunite at TNT KaTropa starting in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup.
The flamboyant Romeo’s stay with GlobalPort was marred by a run-in with coach Pido Jarencio that appeared to be the last straw that led to his trade to the Texters.
Now, Romeo will be playing under Racela, who handled the former UAAP MVP in the latter part of his college career at Far Eastern University.
Romeo admitted he would occasionally bend minor house rules of Racela during their time at FEU, but promised to follow his every order this time in their quest for a first PBA championship.
“Wala naman kaming problema ni coach, kahit nung nasa college ako,” Romeo began in a chat with SPIN.ph after practice.
“Siguro nung college kami, konti may mga pagkakamali kami, like lumalampas kami sa curfew, pinapagalitan niya kami,” he admitted.
Romeo would be ashamed to defy orders of such a classy coach in Racela.
“Tapos napakagaling niya magturo ng sistema,” he added.
That’s why at TNT, the three-time scoring champion doesn’t feel the need to sustain his individual brilliance on a nightly basis like he did at GlobalPort.
“So kailangan lang namin sundin yung sistema, malaman kung kailan iiskor o kailan papasa,” he added. “And tingin ko, wala akong magiging problema.
