TWO of the country’s best shooters heated up on the court on Saturday – but not from the field.
Terrence Romeo and Marcio Lassiter were involved in a commotion, leading to their ejection in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup Finals rematch between San Miguel Beer and TNT KaTropa at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.
The incident started when Lassiter committed a hard foul on a driving Romeo late in the second quarter, with the latter immediately confronting the SMB sniper for his action, leading to both getting called for a technical foul.
The commotion continued in the following Texters offensive possession when Romeo was provoking Lassiter by extensively clapping at his face, prompting the latter to push the TnT guard away.
Both were then called for their second technical fouls, leading to being thrown out with still over three minutes left in the first half.
The Beermen were leading, 48-37, when the two gunners were thrown out with 3:40 left in the quarter.
Lassiter finished with seven points and played for 16 minutes, while Romeo only had two points after just seeing action to close for five minutes.
Arwind Santos and Anthony Semerad also got involved in a similar row latwe in the match, which also led to their ejection after both players were whisteld for flagrant foul penalty 2.
The defending champion Beermen went on and won the highly-physical match, 99-94.
