SAN Miguel Beer guard Terrence Romeo reiterated he takes no pleasure from claiming the PBA Commissioner's Cup title at the expense of old team TNT KaTropa.
"Para sa akin, wala," he said.
Romeo was sensational in an off-the-bench role in the 2019 PBA Commissioner's Cup Finals, averaging 14.8 points, 4.3 assists, 2.3 rebounds through six games.
He poured in 10 points to go with seven assists and three rebounds in the title-clinching 102-90 win over TNT in Game Six on the way to winning Finals MVP honors.
Romeo, however, immediately made it clear that his standout performance was by no means a statement against the team that traded him to San Miguel at the start of the season amid claims of friction within.
The flamboyant guard said that he really has no axe to grind against the KaTropa.
Same thinking lang kung paano kami magcha-champion," he said.
Rather than dwell on the TNT falling-out, Romeo thanked injured teammate Marcio Lassiter who he said was constantly on his ear throughout the series.
Palitan lang kami ng opinyon," he said.
Now he's over the moon after winning a second title in as many conferences with the proud Beermen franchise.
"Dalawang conference ko sa San Miguel, champion agad," he said.
