Holiday break short but sweet for Terrence Romeo in company of family, 'special someone'

TERRENCE Romeo tried to make the most of his New Year’s Eve celebration with his family with GlobalPort hardly taking a holiday break from its PBA Philippine Cup buildup.

While most teams took a break on New Year’s Eve and the day after, the Batang Pier still held training sessions on those days, finally taking a breather on January 2.

That kept the GlobalPort players from celebrating to the fullest on New Year’s Eve.

Still, the Batang Pier superstar insisted he enjoyed the occasion with his family and “special someone” in their home in Don Antonio, Quezon City.

Hindi na lang kami nakapag- out of town or out of the country.”

“Pero wala talagang magagawa, trabaho eh,” he added.

And Romeo is not complaining. After all, the Batang Pier lost to Phoenix, 101-99, last Wednesday in a game where they squandered 26-point fourth-quarter lead, the biggest meltdown in the league the last decade.

“Kung ganun yung mangyari, kailangan mo tanggapin yung consequence,” Romeo said. “Hindi kami nag-effort, so yun yung consequence namin. Talagang sacrifice muna.”

Still, the former Far Eastern University star is hopeful the loss can turn into something positive for the Batang Pier - if they are willing to work hard enough.
