ANTIPOLO – Terrence Romeo admitted frustrations factored in him throwing the ball to Blackwater import Bill Walker that led to the GlobalPort superstar getting thrown out from their PBA Governors’ Cup matchup on Sunday at the Ynares Center.
With his team down by 10 points, 47-37, with less than six minutes left in the second quarter, Romeo drove to the basket and felt a bump from the hip from the Elite import, catching Romeo off balance and leading him to commit a double-dribble violation.
Romeo then threw the ball at Walker, which led to a disqualifying foul from the game where the Batang Pier’s playoff chances were hanging in the balance.
The flamboyant 25-year-old playmaker explained that he reacted that way after a dangerous bump by Walker.
Romeo finished the game with 13 points on 5-of-8 shooting, four assists, and two boards, against three turnovers in less than 15 minutes of play.
