TERRENCE Romeo called the trade that brought him from San Miguel to Terrafirma as “one of the saddest moments of his career,” but insisted he is ready to move forward and play for his new team.
Romeo’s five-year stint with the Beermen came to an end when he and fellow veteran Vic Manuel were traded to the Dyip for Juami Tiongson and Andreas Cahilig.

Importante ‘yung happy memories and achievements natin at mga learnings, hindi mawawala,” wrote Romeo on his official Instagram page.
Romeo, 33, won three PBA championships with the Beermen since arriving from TNT in a 2019 trade for Brian Heruela, David Semerad and a 2021 first-round pick. He was also named Finals MVP after SMB's run to the 2019 Commissioner's Cup title.
He played significant minutes in the last Governors' Cup, where the Beermen were bundled out at the semifinal stage by Ginebra.
Despite his predicament, Romeo said he is excited to contribute to Terrafirma as he begins a new chapter in his career.
“Thank you Terrafirma sa pag-welcome sa akin. Sana makatulong ako sa inyo. Let’s get it,” wrote Romeo.
Romeo thanked San Miguel especially Ramon S. Ang, sports director Alfrancis Chua, former head coach Leo Austria, team governor Robert Non, team manager Gee Abanilla, assistant team manager Danby Henares, and the team’s utility staff for taking care of him during his stint with the Beermen.
Current SMB coach Jorge Gallent was curiously not mentioned by name, although Romeo masur to thank 'all my coaches' in his farewell post.
