IT may easily be Terrence Romeo's finest performance in a San Miguel uniform, but the three-time scoring shampion said he's only getting started.
"Marami pa ring dapat matutununan," he said.
Romeo finished with 23 points, three assists, and two steals in a confidence-boosting 113-92 victory over Magnolia on Sunday that saw the Beermen regain their old form after an early-season wobble in the PBA Philippine Cup.
While the 26-year-old guard is starting to find his footing in a loaded team like San Miguel, Romeo believes there's still a lot he can improve on to contribute to the squad's drive for a fifth straight all-Filipino championship.
"Iniisip ko pa rin kung paano ako makakapag-blend sa team at process pa rin yun. Di ako pwedeng makuntento sa isa o dalawang games kasi hindi yun yung goal eh," said the former Far Eastern University star.
"Ang goal namin is mapuntahan kung saan namin gusto mapunta. So para makarating kami dun kailangan maging consistent ako, kaming lahat," he said.
The flamboyant guard went 8-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-4 from downtown. But he's aware that a player is only as good as his last game, the reason he's aiming to be better in San Miguel's next game on March 8 against NLEX.
"Siguro mas kailangan na lang namin maging ready. Yun yung nasa isip ko, kasi alam ko naman na kahit sino sa team namin pwedeng makapaglaro ng maganda. So importante lang lagi akong ready every game," he said.
"Kailangan lang laging ready at mas paghandaan yung next game namin after ng pahinga."
