ANTIPOLO CITY - Terrence Jones put behind his episode against Calvin Abueva and came in TnT Katropa's PBA Commissioner's Cup game against San Miguel fully focused.
The prolific import held his own both against June Mar Fajardo and import Charles Rhodes in steering the Katropa to a 110-97 win in the Petron Blaze Satuday special at the Ynares Center.
The former NBA player pumped in 30 points, 18 rebounds, four assists, and five block shots in an all-around effort that came almost a week after the infamous physical play that transpired between him and Abueva at the same playing venue.
Jones said the incident is now in the past as his focus is now solely on playing good basketball for TnT, which improved to a 4-1 record for a tie at second place with idle NorthPort.
"I'm good. We come in here tonight and keep strictly about basketball. We dont want everybody to dwell on that game," said Jones affer the game.
"We just want to come in here tonight and stay focus. And just want to make sure we play as a team tonight."
The Katropa did play as a unit after dishing a total of 24 assists (compared to the 18 of San Miguel), with Jayson Castro accounting for 15 dishoff.
Four other players also finished in double figures for TnT, with Troy Rosario scoring 17 and Roger Pogoy with 15, all of them from three-point range.
In all, the Katropa hit 19-of-50 from three-point range for a high 38 percent shooting.
Jones was definitely happy with the Katropa's effort.
"More importantly, I think it was a team effort, the way we moved the ball, we're unselfish. We always tried to find the open man, we played as a team offensively and defensively. And I think that ultimately got us that lead," said the TnT import.
And then there's his match-up with Fajardo and Rhodes.
"They're both very good big men. We knew we're going to have a challenge guarding them just because how offensively talented both guys are. I knew I was going to guard June Mar most of the time, but then Charles got it going and I had to try and make a switch just to make sure we stayed with that lead," said Jones
"Both bigs are very good. A lot of credit to those guys. We know they just won a championship so we give them a lot of credit, a lot of respect."
